I have never been to this restaurant, but their frozen pizza (available at Jewel) is seriously the best pizza ever! In fact, I recently went to a fancy new downtown pizzeria and it was wayyyyy overrated, very MEH. All I was thinking about the entire time was how much better Vito & Nick’s frozen pizza is. I can only imagine how delicious a fresh pizza from this wonderful establishment is and look forward to having the honor of tasting it in person Way to go guys! A true Chicago classic.

I have been waiting for years to come here. I had spent time in Chicago before. I have tried all of the deep dish spots. The best is Piquads in my humble opinion. But the best pizza in Chicago is Vito and Nick's Pizzeria. Everything about the place is inviting. I would describe it as a neighborhood bar (in the best way). I was there with a colleague who grew up in the south side of Chicago but had never visited. I had built up the experience for days before we visited; and they exceeded our expectations. The staff was welcoming and helpful. For those who don't know they are the king and most likely the inventor of the "tavern style Chicago pie". We ordered calamari and a large pie with sausage on the entire pie. We asked for half to have hot giardienara and onions. The pie came out without the Sausage. The dudes in the back forgot the sausage. The awesome woman running the show apologized and made a second pie for us. We, of course, tried our best to eat both. For the trouble she comped me and Old Style pint. My colleague had pizza to take home to his family. I cannot wait to go back. This is a perfect gem of a place. They have multiple generations working there. Check it out. You will be glad that you did. PS I have been thinking about the pizza ever since. I probably cannot recreate it at home. I will need to find my way back.

The pizza here is sheer perfection in my humble opinion. It’s a bit expensive for the amount of food you get (26.xx for a cracker thin 14” one topping) but it’s so, so worth it. How do you price such amazing food? I like it with a little extra sauce... top 3 pizza in the world for me.

Vito & Nick's isn't just a pizzeria; it's a Chicago institution, and for good reason. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a no-frills, classic atmosphere that screams tradition. But let's get to the real star of the show: the pizza. Their thin-crust tavern-style pizza is, simply put, perfection. The crust achieves that coveted balance of being both incredibly crispy and yet having a satisfying chew. It's sturdy enough to hold up to the generous toppings without being cracker-like or flimsy. The sauce is clearly homemade, with a bright, tangy flavor that complements the cheese and other ingredients beautifully. Speaking of toppings, Vito & Nick's doesn't skimp. Whether you opt for their classic sausage, a medley of vegetables, or something more adventurous, the quality is evident. The ingredients taste fresh and are always applied with a balanced hand, ensuring every bite is flavorful. Beyond the exceptional pizza, the service is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall welcoming vibe. While the decor might be dated to some, it's part of the charm and history of this beloved spot. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Chicago's tavern-style pizza, look no further than Vito & Nick's. It's a place that has stood the test of time, consistently delivering a top-notch pizza experience that keeps locals and visitors coming back for more. Don't expect anything fancy, just honest-to-goodness delicious pizza made with care and tradition. Highly recommended!

When they say this is some of the best pizza in Chicago, it's true. I grew up not too far from Vito & Nick's but never ate there. We had our own favorite neighbor spots that we always ordered from. Recently, I got to eat Vito & Nick's for the first time and I think it was the best Chicago tavern-style pizza I've ever had. First off, if you're from Chicago, walking in feels like walking into a familiar home. There's a bar you can sit at, it's not very brightly lit, and there's a ton of Chicago memorabilia on the walls. We came during dinner time on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed. We ordered several pizzas for our large group and they still came out quickly. Dinner, appetizers, and drinks for 10 people was under 200. That is insanely cheap nowadays. One visit and Vito & Nick's is instantly at the top of my favorite pizzas list. I will be coming back here until either I or the restaurant no longer exist.

Vito & Nick’s was a great choice for trying Chicago tavern style pizza, and just great pizza in general. After a short wait we got a table, and I love the basic decor of the place; I don’t think it’s changed in years, and it doesn’t need to. We ordered some Old Style and cheese garlic bread while waiting on our pizza, and it was a good appetizer. The pizza we ordered was a large sausage pizza with additions of onions, mushrooms, and green olives. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time, and made for a wonderful dinner. I can see why this place is getting ready to celebrate its 105th anniversary. I hope they have many more to come.

I'm shocked this restaurant does not have five stars. Some of these people who left less than five stars and also some nasty comments are not worthy of a 105 year old Chicago institution. The pizza is a perfect game at Rate Field on a hot July day. Get an old style, which, let's be real, is pizzas soulmate, or if you aren't into alcoholic beverages, get a cold RC cola and enjoy this masterpiece of a pie!!

Vito & Nick’s Pizzeria has been serving up legendary pizza for over 105 years, and let me tell you, this place still has it. Walking in, you can feel the history, the charm of an old-school Chicago pizzeria where the focus is on great pizza and nothing else. We ordered a thin-crust pizza loaded with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, and onions, and from the moment it hit the table, I knew we were in for something special. The crust was thin, crispy, and perfectly golden, just the way it should be, none of that floppy stuff, just a solid, cracker-like bite that held up under all the toppings. And the flavors? Wow. Every bite was a perfect balance of ingredients. The pepperoni had a slight crisp, bringing a smoky, salty punch, while the sausage was rich, juicy, and full of bold Italian seasoning. The green peppers and onions added a fresh crunch, cutting through the richness of the meats and cheese. Speaking of cheese, it was melted to perfection, stretching with every bite and tying all those flavors together beautifully. This isn’t just pizza; this is Chicago thin-crust done right. Vito & Nick’s isn’t about trends or gimmicks, it’s about timeless, quality pizza that’s been perfected over a century. If you haven’t been here yet, you owe it to yourself to experience one of the city’s true pizza icons.
